Celebrate the Independence Day this year at the Sunshine City with four days of unlimited fun, fireworks and partying, at the beaches and parks. With the 4th of July being a Monday, it’s a perfect holiday with an extended weekend!
Here are a few options listed below about places in and around ST. Petersburg to utilize this festive weekend to the fullest.
St. Petersburg fireworks:-
Fireworks will be displayed at the Vinoy Park, St, Petersburg, starting at 8.30 pm, but could be delayed to 10 pm depending on the weather conditions. The admission is free to the public, and best views will be offered from Vinoy, North Straub, and Albert Whitted parks.
Fireworks at the Clearwater Threshers game: –
If you are a sports freak, spend your Sunday evening, 3rd July, watching the baseball game as the Threshers fight the Brevard County Manatees at the Bright House Field, Clearwater. The match starts at 6:15 and is followed by a round of scintillating fireworks.
Picnic in Craig Park:-
Overlooking the Spring Bayou, the Craig Park at Tarpon Springs is a beautiful park which offers activities like the boat ride, tennis court, playgrounds, recreation center and waterslides. Rusty Trumpet performs live this year on patriotic songs and numbers from the 60’s era to the latest ones. Admission to this park will be free and so will the supplies of hotdog. Get yourself geared for a hot dog eating contest at noon for children of 16 years and above.
Music and fireworks at Clearwater:-
There will be a mammoth display of fireworks at the Coachman Park in Tampa Bay area, downtown Clearwater. Spend quality time with family enjoying the music, fireworks, food, drinks, family events and local vendors swarming the area. The entry to this place is absolutely free. There will be live performances by The Reis Brothers, Aubrey Wallet the Nashville artist, and the Wilsons in the Coachman Park Pops Orchestra. This musical journey will continue all night with the gates opening at 4 and the music starting at 7.30. Fireworks commence from 9-9.30 onwards.
Children’s Parade: –
Get dressed in blue, red, and white, and do take the little heroes to the Children’s parade which starts at the Coffee Pot Park in the North East Neighborhood of the city. This parade will commence from 10 am on the 4th of July.
Celebrations at the Safety Harbor:-
Safety Harbor is a city located on the west shore of Tampa Bay, Florida. Home to the famed Safety Harbor resort and spa, this year’s 4th July celebrations can be spent with the family at Safety Harbor. Witness the patriotic parade from 10 am to noon, at the down Main Street. Indulge in kids’ activities, family entertainments, live shows, and eatables from food vendors in the evening starting at 5 pm. Take your seats at the marina or the waterfront park to enjoy the fireworks from 9 pm.
Tampa Bay celebrations:-
Be a party to the mesmerizing show of fireworks at the St Pete’s Spa beach park. Do get hold of your chairs and seats on time as the whole Tampa Bay flocks in to see the spectacular show.
This quaint beach village has a beautiful boulevard where walks can be taken. Do visit the galleries, art shops and dine in the restaurants for a splendid meal. Activities at Gulfport’s Downtown Waterfront district start from 2 pm. Indulge with your family in the activities for kids and adults alike and enjoy the food, art, and crafts showcased by the local vendors. The fireworks start at 9:15 at the Gulfport Beach.
Buffet at MFA:-
The Museum of Fine Arts will host buffet dinner on the 4th of July this year. People can enjoy the live shows, art galleries, and take the American Buffet dinner at the air-conditioned art gallery. Seats are available from 6.30 pm to 9 pm, and people can enjoy the wonderful views of the fireworks across the skyline of St. Petersburg.
The City of St. Pete Beach celebration:-
The Upham beach gates close down at 6 pm, to start preparations for the fireworks at night. The entry is free, and one must be there at the Upham Beach, 6850 Beach Plaza, St. Pete Beach, Florida to enjoy the Independence Day celebrations.
Madiera Beach celebrations:-
Party all day at the Madiera beach with live music and food, cocktails and beer. Great arrangements are being made with food and drinks being housed in the tents set up at the beach. Fireworks start at 9, so be right there at the Madeira Beach, Archibald Beach Access, 14400 Gulf Blvd., Madeira Beach.
Dunedin’s Hometown USA celebration:-
Enjoy a ball game of the Dunedin Blue Jays at the Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, Dunedin, starting at 4.15 pm and then watch the live concert “The Greggs Billing Band”, followed by fireworks at 9.30 pm.
Events will be held at the Largo Central Park, in Largo and there will be an effort to break the world record of the maximum number of people doing twists’ at the same time. This show starts at 6 pm and charges of $3 will be levied, though admission is free. The fireworks start at 9 pm.
Brandon Blast celebrations:-
Enjoy free music, face painting, video games, magic shows and bouncy house fun at the Brandon Westfield Town Center Mall where admission is free and the special attraction is a chance to win $1000 Westfield Shopping Spree Great food, Fireworks. Timings are 5-9 pm.
Fireworks over Sarasota Bay:-
Witness spectacular views of the fireworks over the Sarasota skyline from the Sarasota Bayfront park from 9 pm. There is no entry fee, and this spectacle can also be witnessed from the Harts Landing, The John Ringling Bridge, and the Bird Key Park.
The Shops at Wiregrass, Wesley Chapel, are celebrating Independence Day by hosting activities like Little Miss and Mr. Firecracker contest, bicycle decoration and watermelon eating contest. This will all be followed by the fireworks, and the timings are 4-9 pm.
