Recently, I was featured in an LA Times article, and the topic was the inaccuracies of Zillow. Today we are going to discuss the same topic, and go a little more in-depth about why Zillow’s home values are often inaccurate.
Even the CEO of Zillow stated that although his site can give sellers a good starting point as to where to price their home, it’s not uncommon for their predictions to be off by at least 10% of the actual market value.
If you’re a home seller here in St. Pete, that could mean your home is undervalued or overvalued by $60,000-$70,000. You won’t get offers, and people won’t pay attention to your property.
There is only one way to truly figure out an estimate for your property, that is by working with a professional, not a program. I would be more than happy to assist you in getting a value for your home. If you have any questions for us, feel free to give us a call or send us an email. In the meantime, here’s a link to the article we were talking about. We hope to hear from you soon!
